Data transfer to the USA was considered critical for a long time. The previous agreements on data exchange with the USA were declared invalid by the European Court of Justice in 2015 ("Safe Harbor") and 2020 ("Privacy Shield").
Since 10 July 2023, the "EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework" is a new agreement that regulates the transfer of data to the USA. Since then, personal data can once again be transferred to organisations that have been certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The U.S. Department of Commerce publishes a list that can be used to check whether the organisation in question is certified: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search
Check service providers from the USA against this list before using their services.
You can find a detailed description of the issue in our course "basic course date protection -> The GDPR explained".
