As soon as you process personal data as part of a project, you must ensure the protection of this data and comply with the regulations set out in the GDPR. In principle, you may only process personal data that you actually need. There must be a legal basis for processing the data and the data subjects must be informed about the processing in advance.
You should therefore always ask yourself the following questions:
- For what purpose do I want to process the data in question?
- Do I really need all the available data?
- On what legal basis do I process the data?
- Is the data subject informed about the processing?
- How is the data protected?
- Who has access to the data?
- When will the data be deleted?
