In the context of an employment relationship, some personal data is processed by employees. However, this is also necessary in the context of an employment relationship and largely results from legal requirements (labour, social and tax law). Responsibility for processing this data generally lies with the HR manager.
The GDPR regulates this in Article 88 GDPR ("Data processing in the employment context"). However, reference is made here to the legislation of individual member states.
Normally, the lawfulness of the processing of employee data should be clarified by your HR department.
